PRE-SALES ENGINEER

  • The Pre-Sales Engineer (PSE) supports sales productivity and deal flow by securing the “technical close” in complex solutions.
  • The PSE collaborates with Sales, Projects, Support and technical resources to ensure proposed deals include technical solutions that accurately address customer needs, and are appropriately supported by key customer technical decision-makers.
  • The PSE is responsible for accompanying the Sales Team members to client meeting (as and when required)

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assigned to the country sales team supported, prioritizing effort based on maximizing total impact on team productivity and profit, or as directed by the sales team manager.
  • Proactively scopes the technical solution required to address customer requirements, assesses customers’ met and unmet needs, and recommends solutions that optimize value for both the customer and the organization.
  • Secures input from all necessary solution stakeholders within the customer firm. Adapts solutions, as necessary, to ensure appropriate support.
  • Coordinates closely with internal team like sales, sales admin, projects, technical team and others to align solution design with customers’ business requirements.
  • Secures from customer technical staff commitments needed to ensure a deal’s “technical close.”
  • Provides coaching and professional development to sales team members and others in order to enhance their product & process knowledge, technical acumen and technical sales skills.
  • Opportunistically pursues additional business development opportunities within customer firms. Collaborates with sales to ensure these opportunities are effectively covered and Identify operational accountability cross-functional alliances
  • Facilitate working together across the silos
  • Monitors customer support for technical solutions proposed throughout the sales process, and alerts the sales and account teams to potential risks of deal closure

Accountabilities and Performance Measures

  • Completes the Technical Response (RFP/TENDER etc) in an assigned timely manner
  • Evaluate each opportunity (RFP/Tender) from the feasibility perspective
  • Maintains deal through-put in early deal-sales process steps

Organizational Alignment

  • Reports to the Head of Presales and Products
  • Reports on a dotted-line basis to the country sales manager for the team supported
  • Works closely and collaboratively with the sales and account teams supported
  • This position may be assigned to support one or more countries

Education, Skills and Experience required for the position

  • Education: Graduation plus technical certification in one or more following areas, Cloud, Network, Data Center Technologies, ICT Security etc.
  • Minimum six (6) years of sales and/or Pre-sales experience in a business-to-business, large/strategic customer segment
  • A record of achievement and technical solution expertise in a comparable Pre-sales role
  • Preferred Professional Certification: ITSM / ITIL / Six Sigma / Lean / Project & Program Management
